Muslim Women Are Opressed: The Myth Breaker

I have to be honest before I watched Muslimah2Muslimah' s Youtube video I did not understand the process for why some muslim women wear the headscarf known as a khimar. A khimar is a head blanket or dress covering worn out of respect for Allah. It is apart of the tradition and culture of the many women of the Islamic faith. In addition to wearing the khimara out of respect for Allah, a woman wears it to protect her flesh from onlookers. The woman who wears the khimara demands respect and chooses to dress modestly for the sake of the building of the kingdom for Allah. I have seen many women wearing the khimara while shopping, driving, and even walking. I am glad that I have a little background on what the khimara symbolizes to these women and their faith, I respect their decision. I guess I did have culture/tradition confused with religous practices. There is a reason and a science behind why women wear this protective clothing. Feel free to watch the youtube video for yourself so that you get an understanding of what the headcovering "khimara" process is all about.

Muslimah thanks for posting this video to destroy the myth that says Muslim women are Opressed because they have to wear that head dress called a khimara.

I could go on and on about the khimara and why all women should take heed to understanding the tradition of the muslim woman who wears a khimara.
